We have all learned to wear masks. We can wear the mask of; the good girl, the bad boy, the caring one, the intelligent one, the clown, the victim, or the controller. There are so many masks and we change them according to who we may be interacting with. We change them with our moods. And we change them to fit in, be accepted, or because we somehow think it will help us obtain something outside of ourselves. We are looking to feel safe and secure.
These are actually identities we show to the world. They are ideas we form of who we SHOULD be, or who we WANT to project. None of them are actually you. The mask is an identity formed by your ego self to make you feel safe. That has been the egos job all along.
Your real self has no need to feel safe. It knows it is always safe. Your real self knows you are exploring being a human and your experiences are giving you information. The real self knows you did NOT come here to learn lessons. You came to experience the beauty of you. You came to experience the programs, emotions, and to finally set yourself free. When you become free, you see the beauty in all. You see the beauty in the masks you have worn. You see the beauty in the emotions you have felt. You see the beauty in you. As you see the beauty in yourself you also start to see the beauty in all humanity.
And all the men and women merely players:
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts.
